Notes from Ms. Marlyn Orozco- ELC Family Facilitator
Hello ELC Families,
Winter break is quickly approaching and you are probably wondering how to occupy the time of your children. Here are some ideas.
Community Connections Center in Mt. Prospect will have a Play N Learn class on Dec. 19th from 11:30 to 12:30. This class is free and open to all district families with children ages 2 to 5.
Arlington Heights Library will host “Stay and Play” groups and “Cookie Decorating” sessions that is open to Arlington Heights residents. Please check the library’s website for dates and times.
Elk Grove Village Library will host “Fun Factory Saturday” on Dec. 16th and Dec. 30th at 9:30. They also have special guest Andy Head, a wonderful wacky juggler that will put on a show for families on Dec. 28th. Tickets are required. Come early.
Please check your local libraries for more fun activities to do with your children.
Christkindlmarket Naperville will be open starting Nov. 24 and running through Dec. 24th. The market offers lots of activities for the children such as a Christkindlmarket passport (activity book), meet and greets with the Christkind (a fairy-like being who is the namesake of the market) and scavenger hunts. Admission is always free.
I hope these ideas will serve as a guide for you to enjoy some quality time with your children during the break. Don’t forget to also continue reading with your children 20 minutes a day. I wish everyone a great holiday season and a happy new year!
See you all in 2018!
Ms. Marlyn
