Sara Magnafichi - 59 in :59

March 24, 2017

Sara Magnafichi, a first grade teacher at Admiral Byrd for the last 12 years, wants her students to know she really cares about them. Her classroom hashtag, #MagnaFirsties, showcases examples of how she incorporates her care for her students into her classroom.

Magnafichi, herself a graduate of CCSD59, grew up appreciating the very influential teachers she had at Rupley Elementary. These teachers conveyed the message Magnafichi wasn’t only a student in their class, but someone they genuinely cared about. This powerful message inspired her and ignited a lifelong passion to become a teacher, and she is grateful she’s had the opportunity to do so in her own community.

Even outside of her classroom, Magnafichi enjoys nurturing, taking in the outdoors while gardening and tending to plants of various kinds.

Watch Sara’s video to see how she’s helping in preparing students to be successful for life.
