Rupley Kicks off Thanksgiving Break with Breakfast
“I am very thankful to find other parent volunteers who are like-minded and want to help the kids and support the school. I am also thankful for how Rupley celebrates their diversity and how we, as Rupley parents, no matter what our background, come together and celebrate our children together.”
-Becky Barron, PTO member and Rupley parent
There was plenty to be thankful for at Rupley School on Tuesday morning as students, parents, and staff prepared for the upcoming break with the annual Family Breakfast before the holiday.
Students were grateful they were able to have some fun by wearing their pajamas today, as they shared a meal and time with their families, friends, and Rupley staff.
Principal Diana O’Donnell was thankful for the wonderful opportunity it provided for parents and staff to come together and engage with children and enjoy the breakfast that the PTO provided.
“It was really breathtaking to have that many people wanting to be here with their children to celebrate learning and start their break together,” said O’Donnell.
Students in the 4th grade choir had the experience of performing for an audience as their families beamed with pride. Families of 3rd graders were able to view their presentations on animal studies, part of their current learning experiences for science.
Barron said this year produce the biggest turnout for the annual event
“I think we have developed a great community here at Rupley where the families feel supported,” she added. “They want to share these experiences with their children.”
The breakfast provided a great way to not foster the sense of community and relationships, but also reminded all attendees there is much for which to be thankful.
“I get very emotional because they are only this age once and I love it.”
